an opportunist or an idealist would make a good founder.
but the best founders are the ones who can maintain (opportunistic & idealistic) at the same time.

steve jobs & bill gates are both opportunistic & idealistic.

one side might a bit more than the other:
jobs might be more idealistic;
while gates might be more opportunistic.

but for someone who is neither opportunistic nor idealistic
— I don’t think this will make a good founder.

this is still a hypothesis that requires the test of time,
but as for now this is what I currently believe.
